Come and meet us and consider joining our friendly team.
Our D4 Ward at Hampshire Hospitals is looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals to join us to provide the highest quality care to our patients. You will be part of a team of supportive nurses who possess excellent communication, organisational and clinical skills and are a fun team too! Whether you are newly qualified, return to practice or looking for a different opportunity we are keen to hear from you.
Are you keen to pursue a career in Orthopaedics? Do you want a role that guarantees you a place on an Orthopaedics course for development with study leave to support this?
We can offer a supportive and friendly environment led by a Clinical Matron and supported by a Senior Sister. The Clinical leads work alongside staff, supporting them to meet their potential. Day to day, the unit is led by an experienced team of junior sisters /charge nurses.
We provide regular teaching sessions and you will be encouraged and enabled to attend an orthopaedics course which includes:
- Best practice in fracture management
- Overview of the Musculoskeletal system
- Management of patients with spinal injury
- Managing patients with casts and traction
- Pain management (including PCAs and epidural management).
All newly qualified nurses are allocated a place on our preceptorship programme as soon as they start. The Preceptorship Programme offered at Hampshire Hospitals is an excellent opportunity to begin your nursing career within a friendly, supportive and caring environment. You will be given study leave, a named experienced nurse mentor to support you through the programme and a dedicated facilitator who oversees the programme to ensure you receive continuous support and learning opportunities. .
Do you need to relocate to take up this role?
For candidates who need to move to the local area to take up this opportunity to work with us, the trust may provide single occupancy accommodation in Basingstoke for your first 3 months of joining.
This is to allow you to settle into your new role as well as the local area whilst making longer term accommodation arrangements.
The trust also covers NMC registration fees for newly qualified nurses for the first year.
We really encourage informal visits - please do come and meet us to see what we have to offer and to discuss flexible working opportunities.
