Job Title: Sales Assistant - Blinds and Curtains
Reports To: Sales Floor Manager
PRINCIPLE PURPOSE: To achieve sales by providing excellent Customer Service and knowledge.
To manage and be responsible for a defined area within a store and provide detailed specialist advice
SALES & SERVICE
To put the customer first at all times and to identify customer needs promptly and accurately. To provide advice, present the products and promote all services to customers
To gain an in depth and ongoing knowledge of the product and suppliers within a defined area.
Anticipate forthcoming sales or seasonal trends and manage full availability of the range.
To offer related sales and services in order that the customer is fully aware of the range and to increase the sale value
To meet customer requirements by accurately calculating, measuring and cutting fabric. Checking goods prior to sale, accurately processing through the till and packaging correctly in order to deliver customer satisfaction and reduce unnecessary loss
To communicate clearly, ensuring customer requests are met by exactly recording details on Special Orders and associated paperwork. Subsequently dealing with any queries and follow up calls when required
Liaise with and support fellow colleagues
To ensure all stock is clearly and correctly priced
TASK RELATED SKILLS
To instruct others and ensure that all till operation, cash handling procedures and transactions are carried out accurately. To ensure all orders and paperwork are completed in accordance with Company Policy.
To safely lift, pack and move products.
To keep a tight control of your stock levels at all times by checking stock on sales floor and in the stockroom, identifying any discrepancies. Take action and remedy any stock issues.
To prepare and action stock checks and stock taking
To correctly action Stock Adjustments, Merchandise Transfers and Debits
To protect profitability at all times.
Communicate with Buyers, Sales Representatives and Floor Managers in order that sales floor layout may be enhanced and suggest additions or limitations of the product range to maximise sales.
To maintain standards of Housekeeping at all times
To train and develop others within your specialised field and generate and maintain enthusiasm and motivation within the team.
Salary: £7.7 - £8.21 per hour
