PIP Disability Assessor (Nurse, Paramedic, Occupational Therapist, Physio)
Spark Recruitment are looking to recruit Registered Nurses, Paramedics, Occupational Therapists or Physiotherapists with 2 years post qualified experience for a Full-Time, 2 days a week, PIP Disability Assessor role in Waterlooville.
The role will consist of using the skills and experience gained from your time in your profession to conduct assessments for new and existing claimants of Personal Independence Payments, in line with DWP guidelines.
This will need strong communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be assessing both mental and physical conditions. You will be able to work under pressure, with exceptional clinical skill and knowledge. You will need good IT ability, with a reasonable typing speed.
Personal Independence Payments (PIP) have been introduced to replace the Disability Living allowance for people over the age of 16. PIP centres on how peoples conditions affect them in day to day life rather than the condition itself.
Your role will to be to assess the impact a persons condition has on them and write a report based on your findings.
You will receive 2 weeks full-time classroom-based training so you are fully prepared to take on the role, before taking up your post in clinic on a Monday to Friday rota. Once in post you will be given a personalised training plan with a mentor to help you through the first weeks as an assessor.
Nurses with experience within an assessment role is an advantage but not compulsory.
Salary starts at £32,000 pro rata, with an achievable monthly bonus of up to £500. You will receive on-going training and support, Revalidation support and excellent promotion opportunities to district and area manager level.
