Job Title: Operations Manager

*Deliver successful execution of projects through detailed analysis and control of margins, risk management through accurate forecasting, and early identification of issues
* Serve as the point of contact for customers on contractual matters. Act as contractual "middleman" between company employees and customers, ensuring timely review and approval / reconciliation of variations.
* On all standard and nonstandard contracts, provide redlined recommendations and often negotiate directly with customer purchasing staff until consensus has been reached
* As a senior member of the leadership team, responsible for leading the contracts team, design team, commissioning and logistics team as direct reports.
* Develop strong working relations with the internal sales team and finance.
*Attend external meetings with customers to facilitate final account reviews specifically relating to high value projects.
*As needed, provide guidance on contract matters to operational staff, including training to the team and other employees in contracting practices and procedures.
*Work with Finance to ensure adherence to broader finance and risk requirements including revenue recognition of contracts, debtor control, financial analysis of company performance and understanding positioning relating to direct costs, overheads and project margins
*A minimum of HNC/HND in construction or engineering, ideally degree level education.
*Strong recent knowledge of JCT contracts
*Experience of leading and managing teams, ideally in a construction site supervision setting
*Experience of delivering projects from pre-start to final commission, project values ranging from £1,000 up to £2 million
*Experience of bookkeeping & financial reporting, maintaining reporting deadlines
*Analytical, methodical and organised in approach
