Role Purpose Applies a depth of support engineering and propulsion system knowledge to the Hunt Re-Propulsion Project (HRPP) in order to meet the required support programme.
Conducts system analysis, plans maintenance activities, produces repair plans, resolves complex design problems and investigates technical issues.
Co-ordinates engineering, commercial and supply chain teams to ensure all aspects of the transitional support arrangements are delivered against contract and business requirements.
·Accountable as the focal point for support engineering across the Class for the propulsion system and associated equipment, ensuring best practices are adopted across projects
·Responsible for the delivery of the transitional support arrangements of the system installed under the Hunt Re-Propulsion Project (HRPP)
·Responsible for maintenance planning of HRPP systems and equipment
·Conduct systematic reliability analysis to identify required design changes (to address safety, availability and maintainability issues etc.)
·Assist with the development of all required defence lines of development (e.g. Training, Technical Publications, and Maintenance Schedules etc.)
·Support to HRPP Electrical & Mechanical Engineers as required
·Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders including Ships Staff, Navy Command and MoD Desk Officers Key Responsibilities
·Engages effectively with engineering, commercial and supply chain teams to ensure all aspects of the HRPP Transitional Support Arrangements (including those required of external providers) are mobilised to deliver the contract and business requirements
·Liaise with the Hunt Class Output Management team, OEMs and waterfront teams to conduct planned maintenance activities for the propulsion system and HRPP equipment
·Liaise with the Hunt Class Output Management team and Ship Staff to ensure that equipment defects are sentenced appropriately and that any repairs are carried out appropriately
·Liaise with the HRPP Engineering and Supply Chain team to manage obsolescence and the configuration control of technical data
·Liaise with the HRPP Supply Chain Manager to provide input and oversight of the provision of spares, tools and test equipment
·Coordinate the provision of technical support to ships as required from the integrated Hunt Engineering team
·Coordinate regular review meetings and reporting with internal and external Customers
·Support the HRPP Lead Engineer to conduct Lifecycle Management Reviews and comply with BAE Systems' Operating Framework (i.e. policy & process)
·Support the HRPP Project Manager to ensure that all activities relating to delivery of the Transitional Support Arrangements are properly planned
·Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities
·Ensure that appropriate de-risking activities are undertaken and all lessons learned are captured and implemented proportionately Context Applies knowledge and experience of support engineering principles and practices to the generation of engineering solutions for the Hunt Re-Propulsion Project (HRPP). Specialist in techniques, processes and tools for Support Engineering aspects of large scale, complex systems, assemblies, and equipment installation.

·Awareness of interfacing processes in Engineering, Supply Chain and Commercial
·Knowledge and experience of various support solution models, experience of managing and/or delivering equipment support
·Experience of MoD / Customer management
·Degree qualified, or equivalent, in a relevant Engineering discipline
·IEng or equivalent level of capability gained through substantial relevant work-based experience. May be working towards CEng status
