Overview of the role
Working for a leading UK wide client, based in Portsmouth, with a focus on technology, we are looking for a Commercial Analyst to join the Commercial Team. The role of Commercial Analyst is to support the position of new and existing clients, by analysing existing and potential spend to support growth of a client account.
To be successful as the Commercial Analyst you will be focussed on commercial modelling of customer billing data, as well and making suggestions for bespoke pricing and analysis of margin reports.
The Commercial Analyst will work closely with all areas of the business including Sales, Customer Management, Billing, Marketing and Product Management. This is a varied role covering a wide scope of pricing, commercial and contractual management and regulatory affairs across the whole Direct channel.
Whilst day to day the role will be supported by the Senior Commercial Analyst, the Commercial Analyst will require a degree of self-management and proactive working. Your key responsibilities
Carry out bill analysis and make pricing recommendations for prospective and existing customers ranging from sub 10 employee customers to large Enterprise organisations and Public Sector bodies
Co-ordinate changes to internal tariffs held in the billing system
Authorise bespoke pricing requests for new business and customer retention, subject to agreed margin parameters
Develop and maintain pricing and proposal tools using excel
Investigate day to day pricing / commercial queries from internal departments
Tariff analysis work and maintenance of tariffs within a variety of pricing tools
Ensure Commercial documentation and processes are kept up to date and accessible to key
You will come with a strong passion for numbers and data, and enjoy analysing large finance data, manipulating rows of raw information and seeing trends
Strong Microsoft Excel skills - you will be a whizz at excel!!
Good Microsoft Word skills
Strong ability to analyse and manipulate financial data
A critical eye for detail whilst retaining the ability to see the big picture
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to influence and motivate others
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and manage competing priorities effectively with an emphasis on delivering the highest level of quality and accuracy
