<p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated senior nurse to take on a 6 months secondment as matron for Cardiovascular & Thoracic at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS).</p> <p><strong>ABOUT THE CARE GROUP</strong></p> <p><span>The cardiovascular & thoracic care group provides regional services to Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Dorset and West Sussex in the provision of tertiary cardiothoracic services. In addition, the care group meets the needs of local people in the Southampton, Eastleigh and New Forest areas; in total we provide cardiothoracic services for a population of approximately two million people. The commitment, knowledge and skills of our staff are integral in delivering a high-quality service to this population.<br /><br />The post holder will effectively lead and support the management of a variety of wards/departments, including the following: - Thoracic, Cardiac surgery, Cardiology, High dependency, Coronary Care, Vascular Surgery and Catheter suites.</span></p> <p><span><strong>WHAT YOU’LL DO</strong></span></p> <p><span>Your leadership will guarantee delivery of high-quality nursing care from admission to discharge. Your role will be to drive consistently excellent clinical quality standards by providing inspirational and visible clinical leadership to the clinical team and supporting them in assuring the delivery of a contemporary, high quality, progressive, effective and evidence-based nursing service. You will be a key member of the care group management team working to innovate and change care pathways and develop and deliver on other workforce, financial performance and capital strategies for the benefit of patients and the trust. </span></p> <p><span><strong>WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR</strong></span></p> <p><span>We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals with proven clinical expertise within the fields of CV&T and Neuro services. You will have a strong philosophy of multidisciplinary working and be able to develop the nursing teams to ensure high quality evidence-based care for our patients. </span></p> <p><span>The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead motivate and manage teams in an ever-changing environment.
